The Andrews girls golf team finished in third place at the Class 4A State Golf Championships at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland on Tuesday.
The Lady Mustangs finished with a 324-334—658 total. Argyle won its second straight state title with a 317-303—620 and it used a stellar final round to pass Midlothian Heritage, which finished in second with 315-321—636.
Seminole finished in sixth place with a 352-359—711.
Bailey Ballou led Andrews with a 77-82—159 and just finished out of the Top 10 in the individual standings. Peighton Manning was the second lowest scorer for AHS with an 81-83—164.
Andrews was seeking the 18th state title in the program’s proud history.
Sunnyvale’s Alexandra Hileman won the medalist title as she followed up Monday’s 4-under 68 with a 76 on Tuesday for a 144 total, four shots ahead of Maddie Sanders, of Midlothian Heritage.

The Garden City girls golf team finished the Class 1A State Golf Championships on Tuesday in third place.
The Lady Bearkats improved by eight strokes and finished with a 413-405—818 total at Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle. Robert Lee won the team title with a 798 total, while Veribest finished second with an 815 total.
Garden City was led by freshman Rylee Wood, who finished in a tie for fourth place in the individual standings with a 94-90—184 total. Shelby Braden had the second lowest score for the Lady Bearkats with a 101-103—204.
Halee Jo Johnson, of Happy, held on to win the medalist title by two shots over Eula’s Maris Pree Goodman with an 81-86—169.
