Classy yet cosy, this modern apartment design is filled with a rich tonal mix of charcoal grey and warm brown decor, visualised by Shubochkini Architects. Situated in the Oasis residential complex, Novosibirsk, Russia, the apartment measures in at a comfortable 78.1 square metres. Wood grain covers much of an open plan living space, texturally linking the lounge and kitchen dining combo as one cohesive visual. White paintwork cools the rest of the room, blanking the backdrop behind neutral contemporary furniture pieces. A touch of teal defines the master bedroom as its own sanctuary, whilst black marble ups the luxe inside a stylish bathroom scheme.
A cushiony sofa sets the cosy vibe at the heart of the open plan living space, where it serves as an effortless room divider between the lounge and kitchen diner.
The contemporary dining set and a large piece of modern artwork line up directly behind the modern sofa to achieve a streamlined and balanced layout.
An island with a wine cooler meets with the side of the dining room table. The main functioning part of the kitchen is tucked away around the corner out of sight.
A table lamp and golden balloon dog sculpture embellish the other end of the unit, where it meets with a custom storage wall. Handle-free doors create the illusion of wood panelling across the made-to-measure storage units. A tall niche has been created within the run to accommodate a set of display shelves.
A charcoal grey upholstered modern lounge chair is situated between the bookshelf and table lamp to create an ideal reading nook.
Sketch art and an intriguing sculpture dot the rest of the shelf space.
The doorway to the bathroom is knocked back in a dark grey treatment with a matching surround.
Two oversized dining room pendant lights make a big statement over the table, but their white colourway prevents their presence from becoming too overpowering for the space.
Grey dining chairs scoop beneath a light oak dining table.
White tiles provide light contrast with what appears to be a one wall kitchen, however, a bank of wood tone cabinets line the wall to the left.
Black SMEG appliances coordinate with a simple black chimney extractor.
As we move into the master bedroom, a splash of teal is added to the home’s brown and grey colour palette. A teal wall creates a statement behind the headboard and an artistic depiction of Adam and Eve.
An industrial style bedroom pendant light illuminates one side of the room and a black bedside cabinet. See more bedroom pendant lights here.
On the opposite side of the bed, a golden Atollo lamp brightens up the black dressing table. A velvety vanity stool warms up the ensemble with an Autumnal shade.
Grey wood grain wardrobes make full use of the vertical space.
A brown throw makes a cosy addition to the crisp white bed set.
Body sculpture acts as an arty book end.
Inside the bathroom, black marble brings a sense of luxe to the space. A freestanding bathtub has been raised up onto a wood effect platform, which provides a wonderfully light and rustic contradiction to the black stone slabs.
The shower screen lines up with the edge of the raised platform, putting the bathtub and shower together inside one communal wet zone.
Behind the bathtub, two modern wall sconces punctuate the white space above a black towel ladder. Toiletries line up along the ledge created by the marble backsplash.
Black marble floods the floor of the bathroom too, and finishes up behind the vanity area. Oak effect units support a jet black countertop and a clean white rectangular vessel basin. A huge round vanity mirror reflects the light and the room.
The covered balcony is home to a plethora of indoor plants.
An inviting reading nook snuggles into one end of the narrow sunny space.
A modern outdoor chair and a cute rattan coffee table fill the opposite side.
Storage space for books hides within the round basket weave table.
A small entryway seat adds the brown accent hue to the grey hallway, where a slimline entryway table cuts weightlessly across a frameless mirrored wall.
Modern wall sconces add a welcoming glow to the entry hall.
Tall cabinets draw around two walls of the entryway to provide plentiful storage space for outdoor wear and bulky household items.
The floor plan reveals how entry into the apartment is made via the kitchen, with the same easy-clean floor treatment connecting the two spaces. We can also see how the wardrobes in the bedroom have been wrapped around both sides of a structural support to achieve more hanging space.
